Football season is well underway. Joel, Jake and Wesley are all playing. First time for Jake(Heavy weight) and Wes(flag). Joel is on the Freshman team. So on Friday Joel had a game. On the second to the last play he fell. After the game he said his arm hurt. He went to see the trainer after his game, who told him their was nothing visible, but if it still hurt in the morning he should go get an x ray. When we got home, I helped take off his first layer of clothes and got him some ice and Advil. He lied down in bed and crashed. He woke up for Seminary the next morning (bless his heart) and I had to help dress him. When the doctor's office opened, I called right away and got an appointment for his shoulder to have an x ray. After over two hours in an office filled with children and adults in medical masks, the x ray indicated a fracture on his clavicle. He is now sporting a sling to help relive the pain and help hold his shoulder in place.

He should be feeling better in a few weeks, but the healing will take a few months. Needless to say, he is done with Freshman football and may be a little late starting basketball. He will need to have another x ray in December or January to make sure it is healed.
Here are a few pictures of the boys and Rachel playing. Joel is # 7 and plays corner back and receiver and wears a gold helmet. Jake is #8 and plays QB & corner back and has a white helmet. Wesley's jersey is either blue or gold. And I forgot...Rachel played powder puff football for school. The Junior girls play the Senior girls. She was #73. The Seniors won, but the Juniors played really well. She really had a fun time going to practice, and playing on the big night. She had one major "tackle" -took the girls flag. It was awesome to watch her work so hard.
