Battle of the Books

Jake and Heather were both on a "battle of the books" team this year. Jake's team, pictures below, won their schools competition and then also won first place against the rest of the district. Each team reads a dozen or so books and then during the "battle" they are each asked a random question about any of the books and then their spokesperson has to say the book and the author (all memorized). They end up with a few trick questions, but do a great job reading. He received a $20 gift card to a book store and then asked me, " Hey Mom, will you give me 20 bucks for this certificate?" He was burned out, I guess.
